Message from the Chair
“Welcome alumni and friends! I am pleased to announce
that Biology is launching a new alumni outreach initiative to help
meet the growing needs of our department. As you know, our
science is expanding rapidly as new technologies transform our understanding
of biological processes, and Biology is working hard to keep pace.
With more than one thousand students, Biology is now among the largest
departments at OU, and is continuing to grow. Because of the generosity
of alumni and friends, in 2007 our department was able to award
$62,000 in student scholarships, and gifts enhanced our department
in many other ways as well, including lectures by internationally
renowned scientists, student teaching and research awards, and support
of student organizations. Your gift matters.”
